Recently I decided to write a letter of a personal nature to a particular someone. I decided to write it by hand since typing felt too impersonal and the words came off the page in a rather hollow manner; one that seemed to defeat the purpose of writing the letter altogether. I bought a legal pad with a nice design for this letter and then used eight pages to write the letter. Two pages were full of mistakes because I was nervous writing them and they had to be rewritten, but in total I had six pages of a hand-written letter. Since then, I’ve used the same pen and legal pad in order to keep something of a journal in which I express my feelings about said letter and chronicle the stress it has since caused. I have a feeling that the rest of the ink and the rest of the paper will be used for this purpose until I can no longer have a single thought about this - truth be told - minor event because I will be utterly spent emotionally by that point.
